Used Equipment: Ford F750, Elliott Lube Body

While we deal mostly in new equipment, we will occasionally find great used products for resale. At the moment, we have a few trucks on our lot that we'd like to see settled into new homes, and among them is this 2004 Ford F-750 Superduty with an Elliott lube-body. Nichols Fleet: About Us

Twenty years ago, Nichols Fleet Equipment got its start as a one-man sales operation for IMT cranes and tire-service equipment in Chattanooga, TN. After starting in the industry as a mechanic and later a salesman, President David Nichols went out on his own and began Nichols Fleet in 1991.  In its infancy, Nichols Fleet operated out of a trailer that served as the sales office, and a nearby factory handled the installations. Today, the company is in a state-of-the-art Chattanooga facility designed for truck equipment installations and service, parts and accessories sales, and in-house painting.

The Nichols Fleet facility features 80-ft bays, capable of holding three trucks per bay instead of just two, and our overhead crane enables easy lifting, manipulation, and mounting of heavy truck bodies. Given the size of the trucks that typically enter our facility, these advancements utilize bay length more much more efficiently allowing us to do more done in less time.

Today, you'll see Nichols Fleet mudflaps on all kinds of trucks and in all kinds of places, both in the US and abroad.  The major markets that we serve include mining, construction (primarily paving and excavating), municipalities, utilities, building supply companies, the tire service industry, contractors, and heavy equipment dealers. Every day we find new and interesting ways to apply our skills and products to new industries and to the many changes and advancements in those we know well.

This morning, Nichols Fleet Equipment launches a new blog function that we hope will enable our customers another avenue through which to learn more about us and what we do.  In this blog, we will include information about our services and facilities, give you opportunities to get to know our staff, provide updates and information on exciting projects and initiatives, and highlight products we offer.  We hope you will follow the blog and check back often for new posts.

The blog might be a format not typically associated with heavy equipment, but with today's ample opportunities for connection and interaction with companies and individuals here and abroad, we are actively engaging new means to communicate with existing and potential customers.  In addition, we hope to use this format to participate more in the larger discussions about issues that affect our industry. Current technology makes it easier than ever to chime in on those conversations, and we are eager to do that.

Nichols Fleet Equipment is currently entering its 20th year of business, a feat largely accomplished through innovation in-- and adaptation to-- an ever-changing industry and economy.  We look at our new communication initiatives in social media as another step in the evolution of our business, and we hope you will find them useful, informative, and interesting.
